Atlanta Streets Alive (June 11th and 25th)
This weekend, June the 11th, marks the first Atlanta Streets Alive of 2011, to be followed by a second on the 25th of the month!
These events, based on the “Ciclovia” concept of closing a street to car traffic and instead using that space to walk, ride, and party, feature numerous vendors, organizations, and lots of fun (and free!) stuff. Come ride down a car-free Edgewood Ave, enjoy live music, delicious food, and a bevy of activities (everything from bike rodeos & mountain bike trails, hula hooping, double-dutch, frisbee, relay races, Zumba, capoeria, cheerleading, boot camp, kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, Nia, salsa, flamenco, Persian dance & poetry, free style poling, poi, and circus performers, to storytelling, bubble making, scavenger hunts, camping challenges, street stenciling, and art installations)!
The June 11th ASA will be from 10am-2pm, with the June 25th ASA running from 4-8pm. For more information, check out their website, www.atlantastreetsalive.com
